A very psychedelic instrumental piece but the beat throughout isn't what I'm looking for. This would probably work better for showreel possibly. I will probably have another listen to it when that time comes. |

The song that first inspired me for these shots so obviously a frontrunner for music choice. The instrumental's work really well with the vocals and display some really nice synergy. |
A instrumental piece off a classic album. I like the 'aireness' to it but I think it's just a bit too short. |

I found this as it is from the soundtrack to my favourite film, Frank. A really nice song but just falls short because of it's length. I do really like the, what I can guess, is either an accordion or keyboard sound (the first instrument you hear). |
I'm a fan of the woodwind instruments on this track however I don't think it's quite what I'm looking for when it comes to the footage I've already got. |

The piano on this is something I am looking and this would probably would be my outright pic. I feel like it might be more engaging if it had some vocals on it for my particular project. |
The song would most likely fit a film that is more 'mysterious' due to the almost whispered lyrics. I do really like the vocals but I don't think the song in its entirety fits with what I set out to look for in the music piece. |

Personally I feel like the song is ahead of it's time. This song could come out right now and not feel out of place (this was released in 1969). The combo of just the singer and guitar is a big positive to this track. |
Was used perfectly in the Black Mirror episode 'Shut Up and Dance'. Me using it in my work would pale in comparison to how effective it was used in that episode. |

The intro to Wren's Lullaby is more or less exactly what I was looking for. A grainy intro which sounds like it is about to go into 'Creep' by Radiohead. The effect that is put over all the instruments is exactly what I want. |
A fairly odd choice for the shortlist but I feel that the song has a lot of little quirks to it which are really pleasant. The fact it's sung by a four year old, the dad asking 'and what do they do' at the 24 second mark. It's a weirdly adorable piece of music. |

Noche Oscura probably suits a montage of a quaint French/Italian restaurant at night rather than a girl on her bicycle. The singer voice at 59 seconds is borderline heavenly though. |
There's a reason why I put this song over the second piece of test footage I had recorded. The unofficial music video for this song is a montage of old home movies so it definitely ticks that box. With that being said, I don't think the vocals in it particularly suit what I want for my piece. |

It's hard to decide whether 'Kahlil Gibran' is a potential contender for the final songs or much suited to be a films outro song. A reason that I'm debating this song is that it sounds very 'summery' if that makes sense. Which is not exactly what I'm looking for. |
This was the song that I had put over the 'Test Footage Two' video for when I was presenting. I am a particular fan of the vocals and the grainy effect that is put on them. It gives connotations of your voice being really tired from either waking up very early or staying up late. This fits really well with what I am aiming for. The tempo of the song also matches up really well with what I initially said I was looking for. |

I had made this shortlist as a playlist and played very brief snippets of each song to Liv, the go to D.O.P of the course and coincidently, the D.O.P for this project. This song was the one she had picked out to be especially fitting for the footage we had already filmed. |
I wasn't the biggest fan of 'First Love' studio released but I preferred this version. It's got the tenderness that I want my final piece to feel like. Riding through the streets at night has that calmness and so does the vocals of this acoustic version. |

Treehouse is weirdly nostalgic piece of music. Not to a particular point in life but to childhood in general. The innocence of the song with the singer talking about their treehouse and not letting anyone in apart from 'you'. |
The final instrumental of the shortlist. It's very calming but would work more effectively if it was played in the background of a film rather than being the main focus of a video. |

This song is definitely a great song but I'm unsure if it's a bit too 'sad' for what I am aiming for. It does possess the tempo that I had initially set out for though. So it's closer to being an example of what I want without actually being what I want, if that makes sense. |
The reverb added to the vocalist's voice is a really nice addition to the song. Makes it almost feels like the person is singing them to themselves. |
