Evaluation- We had recorded the actors/ress doing the same scene five times. This allowed us to make the transition from the medium shots of the conversations to close up and vice versa as seamless as possible. Furthermore, the seamless of the cuts with the audio allows the audience to focus on what's important with this scene, the dialogue between the two characters. If there weren't any cuts then the scene could have the possibility of losing the interest of the audience. If the cuts are too janky then the poor cuts will draw the attention away from the dialogue impacting the quality of the film.
If we were to film this again I would change a couple of things. 1. Better lighting- Even after colour grading, the picture still looks too orange. Maybe a consistent white light in the scene maybe could of neutralised the colour. The introduction of new lighting would also help out with the inconsistencies of the brightness of the scene. In some of the close ups, the picture looks darker when compared to other shots. 2. More shots-A need of more shots is especially evident near the end of the film. We didn't get enough shots of the actress. If we had taken more close ups/medium shots the final bit (by the door, as she is about to leave) would feel a bit more like a conversation rather than the actor talking into space. 3. De-clutter- The background of the shots, especially the close medium shots of the actor, could do with less stuff in. The audiences eyes might wonder of the actors face and onto the stuff in the background. Especially with the bag with the words, this audience might start reading the it and therefore the dialogue would become no longer the priority of the audience. If we had just moved some of the stuff then the audiences eyes will be more focused on the actor.
